New Book - Teapots: Makers & Collectors 

Dona Z. Meilach is an art historian, lecture and the author of over 50 books on various arts and craft. Her latest book , Teapots: Makers & Collectors, tackles the burgeoning activity of teapot making and collecting with over 450 images of teapots from 227 artists in fourteen countries.

Srivilasa's new work "Bowl Pagoda" has been feature in Vogue Living magazine latest issue (July/August 2005) under Design News section. Detail below/

"Bowl Pagoda -Delicate hand-pinched and hand painted porcelain is the material for Melbourne-base artist Vipoo Srivilasa who will be exhibiting his blue and white works. at the prestige Surapon Gallery in his native Bangkok this spring. The exhibition was open by H.G. Nelson on May 19. Nelson delivery a wonderful and witty opening speech.

Vipoo is very excited to be advise that his application to Arts Victoria for financial assistance under the international Program for a solo exhibition at Surapon Gallery, Bangkok, Thailand has been successful.
 
The exhibition will run from 15 Sep - 15 Oct 2005.

Srivilasa will exhibit his ‘Lai Krarm’ (Blue and White) series at what is one of Thailand’s most prestigious and respected contemporary art galleries.

Founded in 1997, Surapon Gallery promotes works that reflect the growing social and cultural diversity within Thailand, dealing primarily in Thai contemporary art.

Vipoo is delighted to be confirm that his Medusa Teapot  from In the Closet Teapot Series has been short-listed for The City of Darebin- La Trobe University Acquisitive Art Prize to be held at Bundoora Homestead Art Center.

   
13 January 2005 Prize Winner

Vipoo Srivilasa has won the first prize at the Artful Teapot Exhibition in Bending.
 
The exhibition is by invitation and Vipoo's Mermaid Teapot is now part of The Bendigo Pottery permanent collection.
 
Vipoo submitted two pieces. His second piece "Sea Dragon" also won the third prize.

   
  Beyond Earth: exploring the plastic limits of clay

Presented by the Potters’ Society of Australia and Manly Art Gallery and Museum, curated by Barbara Campbell Allen. Fifteen participating ceramists including Vipoo Srivilasa have each developed a language that utilises clay’s plasticity to communicate ideas.
 
Srivilasa will present 10 pieces from his Coral Series for the show. The series intertwines elements of Thai culture and the unique shapes, colours and textures of Australian coral reefs.
