  NAVA Feature Artist   Recently NAVA (National Association for the Visual Arts) website selected Vipoo Srivilasa as their feature artist and present his work on the front of their website.    
  Artist talk Gerry Wedd, Bronwyn Kemp and Vipoo Srivilasa will present an artist talk at Object gallery on Saturday 19 January 2008 as part of the opening ceremony of A Secret History of Blue and White.

The show was travelling around Asia in 2007 and will be travel around Australia in 2008 and 2009.
   
2 December 2007 Friendship Stone "Friendship Stone", a blue and white ceramic installation, is a result of Srivilasa artist in resident at Presbyterian Ladies' Collage, VIC.

22 November 2007 New Web Site Launched The site has been completely revamped.  The Gallery section has been enhanced with new easy to use interface, including new and improved high quality images.

  New Acquisition   Recently, Vipoo Srivilasa, had been invited to exhibit a work inspired by Bundoora Homestead.  His blue and white piece which told story about the place and its relationship with the local community recieved very strong good respond from the public. Bundoora Homestead decide to acquired the piece for their permanent collection.

3 Sep 2007 China The Australian Embassy in China has invited Vipoo Srivilasa to Beijing and be present for the exhibition opening of A Secret History of Blue and White.

The official opening is Monday 17th September 2007 and the show will run till 29 September 2007.

While in Beijing Vipoo will also run two ceramic master classes as part of the exhibition program.
   
  Western Australia workshops   In October, Vipoo will be leading 2 two days workshops in Western Australia.

10 August 2007 new work grant Vipoo Srivilasa's application to The Australian Council for the Arts has been approved for the purpose of Develop new ceramics works explore the cultures of Thailand and Australia.

The application was successful in an increasingly competitive environment (from 329 applications only 77 applications have been reproved).
   
  new exhibitions Vipoo Srivilasa will participate in "A Secret History of Blue and White",  a touring exhibition which began touring in Asia in 2006 and will commencing in Australia at Object Gallery, Sydney in January 2008 and finishing up at the Jam Factory, Adelaide in May 2009.

The exhibition organised by JamFactory and Asialink . Vipoo has also been invited to take part in an international exhibition at the Shanghai City Hall, China in 2008 with the theme of mice and teapots

  Celebration Exhibition Four steps to Heaven Vipoo's latest series has been selected to be part of Celebration Exhibition. The exhibition presented by The Australian Ceramics Association and curated by renowned ceramicist Prue Venables.

Celebration showcases works commemorating an important life event in the life of the featured artists. The exhibition will be on show at Manly Art Gallery & Museum next month.
   
  Bundoora homestead Extend Family from My Self : My Others series has been short-listed for  DLAP 2007 (City of Darebin & La Trobe University Acquisitive Art Prize) to be held at Bundoora Homestead Art Centre (10 Aug - 10 Sep). 

 Dr. Jacqueline Healy, Director of Bundoora Homestead Art Centre also invite Vipoo to participate in a special exhibition which is commemorating and celebrating Bundoora Homestead. The exhibition examines the architectural and social history of this site from 1899-1920. Invited artists have been asked to create works that inspired by The Bundoora Homestead.
   
  2007 out door - indoor sculpture exhibition Intermission 2 from My Self : My Others series has been short-listed for the 2007  Indoor/Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition presented by Toyota Community Spirit Gallery.

The exhibition aims to promote, progress and document the diversity and excellence of sculpture practice in Victoria. Indoor/Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition supported by the Contemporary Sculptors Association Incorporated.
   
17 May 2007 Honourable Mention Vipoo's Lai Krarm has won a Honourable Mention award in the 4th World Ceramic Biennale 2007 Korea International Competition.    
24 April 2007 On the cover Vipoo Srivilasa's Lai Krarm features on the cover of "Ceramics", a Thai ceramics journal, issue Jan-April 2007. The magazine also feature an article on Vipoo's Lai Krarm series and Vipoo's Clay Alchemy project

This is the second time that Vipoo's works feature on magazine covers. The first time was in 2003, his coral pieces appear on the cover of Pottery in Australia magazine (or The Journal of Australian Ceramics magazine).
   
  101 monster installation at clay edge The installation is part of Clay Edge festival in Gulgong.  Vipoo , as one of the master artists, lead almost 80 delegations to help him build an army of small monsters parade down the hill.    
  Vipoo in The Journal of Australia Ceramics Journal of Australia Ceramics latest issue (issue 46/2007) published an article, "Towards a Cross-Cultural Entente: The Work of Vipoo Srivilasa", featuring Vipoo's My Self : My Others series. The article written by Melbourne base writer, Inga Walton.

A Secret History of Blue & White in Bangkok

The Australian Ambassador to Thailand H.E.William Paterson PSM recently presided over the exhibition of contemporary ceramics from Australia entitled A Secret History of Blue and White at the Gallery of Arts and Design, Silpakorn University. Also attending the opening were Robert Reason, Curator of European and Australian Decorative Arts at the Art Gallery of South Australia.

Vipoo Srivilasa is one of five prominent contemporary artists in the show.

6 March 2007 South side art Project @ 1 Treasury place Little Boo Peep and Extended Family from My Self : My Other series are on display in the parliamentary office as part of the South Side Art Project @ Treasury Place. The exhibition is presented by Über Gallery.    
  A secret history of blue and white in Hanoi The Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi provides the launching pad for Asialinnk's newest touring exhibition, A secret History of Blue and White.

The exhibition highlights the diversity and strength of Australian ceramics and positions it within European and Asian ceramic histories.

JamFactory Managing Director and exhibition curator Stephen Bower selected works by five prominent contemporary artists including Vipoo Srivilasa. The exhibition was launched in Vietnam and will continue on to Bangkok and Singapore this year

  Australian Ceramic Stories Dr Julia Jones has invited Vipoo Srivilasa to be part of a national ceramics exhibition in 2008. The exhibition will be held at the Dubbo Regional Gallery, in the new Western Plains Cultural Centre, NSW.

Dr Julia as a guest curator has selected the focus area of “Australian Ceramic Stories”.  The exhibition will stimulate discussion and investigation of the role of narrative in Australian ceramics, and will be accompanied by a one-day forum and a master class
   
2 February 2007 Clay Alchemy complete Clay Alchemy: a cultural exchange project between Thai and Australian artists organised by Vipoo Srivilasa was completed with great success.   the 4th World Ceramic Biennale 2007 (CEBIKO)

The 4th CEBIKO has drawn a great number of highly talented ceramists from around the world, 1436 artists from 66 countries, and 2444 submitted works went through an exceptionally competitive preliminary selection.

The screening was held for 10 days. As the result of fair and strict selection, 194 works have been selected. 5 experts in ceramic and contemporary art, 2 Korean and 3 foreign nationals, have taken part in the Preliminary Screening and the same jury will be invited for the Final Screening.

Vipoo's "Five Open Doors" is one of the 194 works.

   
  Bangkok Design book

The book profiles 32 designers and artists whose work straddles the line between "fine art" and "decorative art". The book written by Brian Mertens, a Bangkok based writer on Asian art and culture, is published by Times Editions / Marshall Cavendish of Singapore and London.

Vipoo Srivilasa is one of the 32 artists featured in the book.
