A Secret History of Blue and White in Beijing

In September 2007, I was fortunate enough to be invited by the Australian Embassy to be present at the opening of an exciting exhibition "A Secret History of Blue and White"  in Beijing, China and lead a couple of master class workshops at Beijing University of Technology.

I would like to share my experience with you all.

Hope you enjoy it :)

Arrive Beijing

I arrived in Beijing late afternoon of 22 Sep 2007. I was shock by the amount of mist and smoke in the city. Everyone said it was normal and it was a "good day"!!! There are so many building being built.

My first meal in China

They look great but did not taste as nice, a bit of a disappointment for this demanding Thai! Having said that I put on weight when I get back (well...about 6 KG!!!).

Panjinyuan Market (Dirt market or weekend market)

A very interesting place. Come from Bangkok, I think my bargaining skill is quite good but it was defeated here!! The real cost (what local would pay) is one tenth of the price they quote you!

Donghuamen Night Food Market

I think it set up mainly for tourists but it has many wired and interesting things. I found my favourite food here, it is a fruit stick!!! Just like toffee apply in Australia...I think ...but they come in many variety of fruit. The best one is peach!!!  I eat it almost every night as my after dinner treat.
