ARTISTS STUDIOSPIFO New Art StudiosLi Gang, a Chinese artist who used to study at VCA invited me to visit his studio and gallery. He is a friend of Denise Keele-bedford, an Australian artists who is now resident in Beijing. Both of them have studios at PIFO New Art Studios. It is like an art community. There are many studios for rent. Some of the artists also turn it into their homes. Its a very friendly and creative atmosphere. Denise and Li Gang took Dean and I around the area including a visit to Li Gang's gallery. By walking around the area I learn that most of the artist
have local assistants! This enable the creation of very
large works!! Really large works!!! |
