Have You Eaten? 2020-2021

This collaborative project brings together the creative practices of ceramicist Vipoo Srivilasa and mixed media artist Sai-Wai Foo in a joyful and poignant celebration of food, friendship, culture, and solidarity.

Srivilasa and Foo both explore themes of cross-cultural experiences, migration, identity in their respective practices, and also share a long-standing interest in participation and exchange between artists and community.

Have You Eaten? embraces the artists’ personal and cultural obsession with food for its nourishment, love, and social and cultural connection. The artists invite us to consider the central place of food in diasporic community identity and relationships, and its power as an entry point for intercultural understanding, empathy, and compassion.
