Superhero, 2017

Superhero was a collaborative project I developed with Kingston Arts Centre in Melbourne.

Twelve adults joined me for a six-hour masterclass at my ClayLAB studio in Cheltenham. I invited each participant to imagine a personal superhero with a unique power capable of confronting a challenge in their life, including mental health, social injustice, creative blocks or family issues.

Using my ceramic knowledge and teaching experience, I guided participants through the process of transforming their ideas into sculptures.

The resulting works became expressions of personal strength, resilience and creativity and were later presented together in an exhibition at Kingston Arts Centre.
