Thai Na Town – Little Oz is a public-engagement project exploring migration, memory and the experience of missing home.
I invited participants to create sculptural objects representing what they missed most about their hometowns, drawing on my own experience of migration and my desire to connect with the stories of others.
The project took place in two stages. In Sydney, I worked with members of the Thai community, followed by a second project in Bangkok with Australian expatriates.
I exhibited their collaborative sculptures alongside my own work, bringing together our different experiences of migration while reflecting on my own longing for Thailand.
