Hungry Ghost, 2022

In 2021, I lost many friends, and making art became a way for me to process grief and understand the emotions I was experiencing.

Hungry Ghost grew from this period, allowing me to explore sadness while searching for a more positive way of thinking about death.

Through my research, I connected beliefs from my Thai heritage with traditions such as Mexico’s Day of the Dead and Japanese stories of Oni and Yurei. Growing up with a belief in spirits, I began to imagine what a happy ghost might look like and whether even a ghost could find peace and joy.
