Iconic Figures: Devas, Deities and Divas

Edwina Corlette Gallery, Brisbane
20 August – 16 September 2025

Iconic Figures: Devas, Deities and Divas brings together a playful “greatest hits” of my practice, marking 15 years of working with Edwina Corlette Gallery. These new ceramic sculptures draw on themes that have shaped my work over time—protection, joy, identity, and belonging—using familiar elements such as floral motifs, paired figures, and the V-sign gesture. By bringing together devas, deities, and divas, I celebrate different forms of strength and visibility, blending references from Buddhist and Hindu traditions with contemporary popular culture, including pop icons and drag performers.

For the first time in a commercial exhibition, I’ve introduced terracotta alongside my usual blue, white, and gold palette, as a way of connecting my Thai and Australian experiences. I’ve also invited visitors to take part by drawing their own modern-day or god-like idols, allowing the exhibition to grow through shared participation. This show reflects not only my evolving practice, but also a long and meaningful collaboration that has grown alongside my career.
