In The Marriage of Sang Thong, I draw inspiration from a traditional Thai folk tale about Prince Sang Thong and his love, Rochana, focusing on the challenges they face before their unconventional relationship is finally accepted.

I saw parallels between their story and the struggle for the acceptance of same-sex marriage. This was particularly personal for me because of my connection to both Australia, where I live, and Thailand, where I was born.

In 2019, I married my husband, making the themes of love and acceptance within the series even more meaningful to me. The exhibition celebrates love, recognition and victory.
