Garden of LOVE 2021

The 10th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT10)
Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane
4 Dec 2021—25 April 2022

Is there someone you miss?

In Garden of LOVE, I explore love, loss, companionship and loneliness—emotions felt deeply by many during the COVID-19 pandemic when loved ones were kept apart.

I invite children to express their feelings for someone they miss, particularly grandparents or extended family, by writing a message or drawing a portrait on a flower template. As each flower is added, the garden gradually blossoms and grows.

The project also features Dok Rak, an animated Flower Bear mascot inspired by my Flower Bear sculptures and created for APT10 Kids. Children are invited to dance with Dok Rak, bringing a playful and joyful element to the experience.
