re/JOY is a collaborative project built around seven precious but broken ceramic objects donated by members of the public, each carrying a personal story of migration to Australia.

I transformed these objects and stories into seven large-scale sculptures, alongside a smaller work reflecting my own migration experience. Through re/JOY, I explore memory, belonging and the emotional complexity of leaving one place and building a life in another.

The project was supported by a 2023 Creative Australia grant, with Australian Design Centre as commissioning partner. It was curated by Lisa Cahill, designed by Stephen Goddard, with project development support from curator Tian Zhang.
